The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has issued a further update on preparations for Martyn’s Law, outlining new guidance, compliance resources and support tools ahead of the legislation's expected implementation in spring 2027.

Organisations are being encouraged to use existing ProtectUK and Home Office guidance to determine whether their premises or events fall within the scope of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025. The SIA is also developing an online assessment tool, practical templates for duty holders, and a notification portal to support compliance and engagement with the new regulatory framework.

Martyn’s Law aims to improve public protection against terrorism by requiring certain premises and events to take proportionate preparedness measures. The SIA has been appointed as the regulator and continues to develop guidance and resources to help organisations prepare for the new requirements.
